A lake can be very beautiful as it reflects its surroundings: when calm and clear it may reveal much lying beneath its surface: when disturbed by contrary winds or earth's upheavals it can be menacing and may overwhelm all around it in a sullen flood of silent water.
The Piscean subject, being in the third degree of experiencing attunement with this element, can be a very wonderful person, because he (or she) will not just seek for peace but, in their tranquility will frequently reflect in their consciousness the ideas of great philosophers, the beauty revealed by artists or the light of the Oversoul which they discern by means of the meditation which they can so easily cultivate.
Third degree people are generally inwardly tranquil without being aware of the fact. They are frequently bewildered by the efforts they observe made by other people, which makes them feel they ought to make similar efforts themselves. They do not know that, in the cultivation of meditation, they do not need to make a lot of effort. All they need to learn is how to be themselves and to be STILL.
Unfortunately, these people seldom realise their own natural powers because this restless, materialistic world tends to confuse them, especially as they frequently feel they ought to reflect in themselves the same pattern of life as they see in the surrounding world. Many Pisceans live somewhat chaotic lives in which they try to emulate what they observe in other people, or in trying to do what they think others expect from them. Often they attempt to follow the instructions given in books and by teachers who extol the methods they have found successful for their own development, whereas the Piscean needs his (or her) own particular method of stillness. Like a pool of water they tend to reflect 'what is around them instead of being uncompromisingly themselves.
When they learn to be tranquil in their own soul, Pisceans may become excellent psychics, healers and spiritually inspired revealers, because they possess the inner tranquillity necessary for the reception of the revelations of the true mystic. When they are unable to achieve spiritual poise, these people get the reputation for being unreliable: when showing the negative side of their nature, this is true. Sometimes they do not know what they want: then they vacillate from one thing to another, changing one kind of employment for something different, thus causing irritation and bewilderment to their families and friends, who expect them to be settled and contented.
Iron gives Strength and stability to the body, which is supposed to contain four ounces when in perfect health. It is the iron which attracts oxygen from the lungs, makes red the blood and keeps the brain active. A lack of iron in the system results in breathlessness, listlessness, anaemia and, sometimes, the inability to remember and accomplish what is essential in life. Often coldness in hands and feet is the outcome of lack of this essential mineral. It has the reputation for being especially helpful to children when recovering from childish complaints, also young girls when beginning their menstrual cycles.
Iron in the biochemic preparation known as Ferrum Phosphoricum is useful to people governed by Pisces, especially when they are bewildered by the apparent inconsistencies of life. They need small amounts of this preparation at frequent intervals in order to maintain their good health, for it is obvious that without a sufficiency of iron the whole system may be weakened.
They may have a tendency to develop fluid accumulations in the feet and ankles, especially if they develop conditions of anaemia and the debilitated states resulting in symptoms of a dropsical nature, in which the watery element can be seen as reflecting an affinity with the body to which it is closely attuned.
These people especially need to be careful to feed their bodies on foods rich in nature's own iron, which means subsisting as much as possible on foods in their natural state instead of foods cooked to such an extent that the natural minerals are boiled away. Fresh salads, uncooked young vegetables, fruits, currants, grains and seaweed foods are all rich in the essential natural Ferrum Phosphoricum.
