THE BACKGROUND TO KISMETOLOGY - THE COMBINED STUDY OF ASTROLOGY, NUMEROLOGY AND DOCTOR W H SCHUESSLER'S SYSTEM OF BIOCHEMIC MEDICINE

During the 1970s Geoff Benson ran a successful retail DIY and Garden Centre from an out-of-town site of about an acre in size, located in Shipley, an industrial town in West Yorkshire, England.
Difficulties were experienced both with regard to planning permission and Sunday trading laws governing retail developments and in 1978 the company ceased trading on Sundays in order to avoid a contempt of court order being served by the local authority.
Geoff experienced two breakdowns of his mental health during the growth years of his business interests between 1973-1978 which so exhausted his nervous energy that he found great difficulty in holding meaningful conversations over a two year period (1978-1980).
Although the second breakdown he experienced caused chaos, both to his business and family life, it proved to be the start of his quest for knowledge as to the causes of his illness.
During his 1978 stay in hospital, his manic state so isolated him from accepted normality that it was only when he started to compare birth dates of both hospital staff and patients that he re-established any basis of trust in fellow human beings.
The system of comparison he developed created a number or fraction by multiplying the day of birth by the month of birth and then dividing the sum by the year of birth, i.e.:
| 6th Dec 1936 = |
6 x 12 = 2 |
5th Nov 1938 = |
5 x 11 = |

His logic assumed a variance of 21 differing reactions between the two people born on the dates used in the above example. One of the patients subjected to Geoff's new system mentioned Astrology and this chance remark proved very helpful in his search for self knowledge and understanding. One the main reasons for his unusual behavior was his fear of being subjected to a course of tablets similar to those prescribed during his 1974. illness which had resulted in his temporary loss of sight.
The study of the Taoist teachings of Lao-Tsu also proved a great comfort to him after his release from hospital and an active interest both in Astrology and the Sati Society opened up exciting new possibilities in his search. It was after attending a week-long Sati workshop on Out Breathing Techniques in 1981, that an understanding of the cause of his illness was realised.
The remarkable effect the Out Breathing Techniques learned during the workshop so improved Geoff's physical well-being that it highlighted the negative and positive effects of the quality of the air we breathe.
Research into human reactions to weather patterns, polluted working environments and even research into the basis of language occupied Geoff over the next three years.
In March 1985 Geoff met Kim Jordan and she introduced him to further spiritual teachings and also the study of traditional Numerology. His new insights into Numerology highlighted certain aspects of Geoff's personality and produced further realisation that we are all subject to unique natural body energy rhythms programmed into our bodies at birth.
A spiritually inspired book by Ursula Roberts called 'Hints for harmony of Body and Soul' explained the part played by natural minerals (or tissue salts) within our bodies and the chapter on Sagittarius, Geoff's birth sign, explained in understandable terms the need for the mineral 'Silica' within his body.
Much to his amazement within 10 days of starting a course of Silica his 35 year dependence on cigarettes left him (he regularly smoked 50 a day!).
The book 'Medicine of the stars' by Vanda Sawtell also proved a great source of information regarding the body's need for Silica. One very interesting fact about Silica is that it works together with Calcium Fluoride (the Cancerian mineral or tissue salt) in the composition of the crystalline lens of the eyes. Now it is interesting to note that both Silica and Calcium Fluoride are used in the manufacture of glass lenses. ls it not significant that the same elements which are necessary within the body in order to build and to maintain the natural lenses of the eyes are the very ingredients out of which artificial lenses are made.
The differing chemical reactions produced within our bodies by the usage of the 12 mineral or tissue salts identified by the world-famous German, Doctor W H Schuessler, cross-referenced with Geoff's knowledge of Astrology and Numerology. He developed the theory that positive behaviour patterns demand differing mineral concentrations within our body cells and that it is natural for our bodies to act in selfish ways when we are not enjoying good health or when living or working in unnatural environments.
He constructed a chart giving details of our body's usage of the 12 tissue: salts and he began compiling data on everyone he met as to their behaviour patterns and life experiences as projected by their Astrology and Numerology calculations.
Since 1985 Geoff has further developed his study of Astrology and Numerology and hundreds of case histories later he is able to accurately pinpoint the varying usages of minerals within our bodies during its ageing process.
Geoff gives talks and conducts workshops on Kismetology with the object of making the public at large more aware of the workings of their own bodies. The charts constructed by persons attending workshops give personal details of the minerals, herbs, food and type of exercise each body needs in order to restore or enjoy health. Charts dealing with the behaviour patterns of whole families. possible friendship links and the mineral needs of even newly born babies prove most popular with students.
WHY KISMETOLOGY ?
Alexa Devey, a friend of Geoff Benson, suggested the name `Kismetology'
Kismet is defined in our dictionaries as meaning fate/destiny. Kismetology can therefore be defined as the study of controlling our own fate/destiny through the correct balance of mineral chemistry within our bodies.
